SOMETIMES CHANGE ISN'T NECESSARY
'A girls best accessory is her smile' yes this may be true but you have to have a bit of bling in your life to achieve that smile... or well at least I do (easily pleased). I am the most BORING human when it comes to jewellery because there is nothing I love more than dainty, simple, plain and meaningful pieces of (mainly) silver and gold. I LOVE pieces that I know I could never have to take off again because I'm lazy yet I can't leave the house without a necklace, earrings or bracelets as I literally feel naked so the pieces I wear are things I never take off SO they need to go with everything. I'm going to jump right in.
MY NECKLACE
This is probably the piece I love the most purely because it is so simple and pretty yet it never ever gets in my way and it goes with absolutely everything. I got this necklace on my 18th birthday from my uncle and aunty and it's from Links. If there is one person I look up to when it comes to all things jewellery it is 100% my aunty Caroline because she has FAB taste and has the exact same mindset as me when it comes to wearing jewellery and what pieces we like. I'm VERY picky and I love everything about this necklace because not only does it have the most beautifully simple design it also sits just how I like necklaces to sit and that is not too long but also not a full on chocker. 10/10 from me.
MY BRACELETS
MY RING
My ring is my most prized possession and I've worn it solidly for four years. It was my Grandmas and when she passed away I was allowed to pinch a few pieces out of her collection. Up until I got my Links necklace I also wore my grandmas locket every single day but it kept breaking and was too fragile to carry on being worn frequently. To me I will wear jewellery because of the meaning behind them rather than making a fashion statement and I'm lucky enough to have pieces that actually would be something I'd pick out myself. This ring means so much to me and it makes me all gooey inside when people compliment it because it makes me think of my beloved Grandma and how cool and fashionable she was at my age and I want to be just like her in that sense. I know it's gold but it has beautiful silver details and diamonds in the shape of a flower and it honestly couldn't shout 'sophie' any louder than it already is. Thank you Grandma.
MY EARRINGS
My earrings are the only thing that I actually don't mind putting effort in to changing and have no personal meaning behind. I don't feel me without earrings in and I know that sounds silly but I just love having something cool going on on a part of my body I am quite self-conscious about. I actually used to have 10 piercings but I worked at Legoland in Food and Beverage and not only do they hate you looking 'un-kept' and 'messy' you also can't wear earrings for hygiene reasons and seeing as I was working 10 hours each day for about 3 months I just didn't have the time or effort to keep putting them back in and then having to take them straight out again so most of them have closed up but I WILL be getting them back and I will be happy again. For now I have my tragus piercing, my first and second holes and my cartilage and that will have to do. I'm planning on doing a piercing blog post soon so keep your eyes peeled if you care about pain and whether they are worth it! Anyway I wear silver hoops pretty much everyday and I never take the studs out so pretty boring again but oh well that is just me!
SO if you have got this far well done you deserve a strong coffee and a shot of vodka but thank you anyway for reading. Hope you're having a fantastic day and hopefully I'll see ya next time.
Soph X
